For the second time in less than a month, Malian Prime Minister Boubou Cissé is conducting a five-day field visit to the Mopti region, plagued notably by insecurity. His visit comes as new attacks against civilians have devastated several villages. This week, at…

This week, at least fifteen civilians were killed by armed men in villages in central Mali, according to a statement from the armed group Dan Nan Ambassadou. For its part, the spokesman for the Malian government does not provide a toll of the attacks, but accuses "uncontrolled individuals who are spreading terror".
These events occur as, in the same region, the Prime Minister pursues his second field visit in less than a month. After the flooded localities, Boubou Cissé is this time visiting the inundated part of the Mopti region. And during his stop in the town of Ténenkou, where according to witnesses he was carried in triumph, he recalled that security remains his priority.
In the delegation accompanying the Prime Minister are highly influential deputies from both the majority and the opposition in the area. This is an indication for the head of government that to effectively resolve the crisis, one must work with everyone.
