President of the Republic Pierre Nkurunziza, accompanied by the President of the National Assembly, joined worshippers at Rocher de Buye church in Mwumba commune in Ngozi province during Sunday worship on May 3, 2020. The Head of State announced that Burundi will receive as many blessings as in previous years. He called on Burundians to vote guided by inspiration from the Holy Spirit.

In his remarks, National Assembly President Pascal Nyabenda testified that Head of State Pierre Nkurunziza contributed greatly to making him who he is, even though when they first met no bond united them.
Pascal Nyabenda then invited Burundians to love one another without any distinction. Your neighbor can become your source of blessings, he specified. Taking this opportunity, the National Assembly President implored the Almighty to bless the President of the Republic in his future life, after the elections of May 20, 2020.
In his sermon, the President of the Republic greatly appreciated the blessings from the President of the National Assembly, because, he specified, the President of the National Assembly represents the Burundian population. He further recalled that the frank collaboration that has characterized the legislative and executive powers has strongly testified to God's involvement in the activities of his mandate, announced the Head of State.
According to him, since 1962, no government has completed its mandate without internal conflicts between the powers defined by the constitution. Things have changed because, he indicated, Burundi has reserved first place for God, especially in the new constitution.
Drawing on the word of God from 2 Chronicles 7:11-18 and the Gospel of John 21:1-6, the Head of State emphasized that: "God manifested himself by forgiving the Burundian people, because they invoked his name, they prayed and sought his face and they turned away from their wicked ways".
President Pierre Nkurunziza indicated that God will guide Burundi during this electoral period. He urged Burundians to pray more in order to be guided in choosing a good leader. He prayed for the ongoing electoral period and implored God to bless Burundi.
