The celebration of the 57th anniversary of UPRONA Party's victory continues in various provinces of the country. The "Badasigana" of Bujumbura province celebrated this victory on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at the headquarters of Kabezi commune. The ceremonies were enhanced by the presence of the First Vice-President of the…

In his remarks, UPRONA Party Secretary General Olivier Nkurunziza indicated that the Party is on firm footing throughout the country thanks to the determination of its members. He took the opportunity to welcome new members and announce to them that the party's representatives at the highest levels had come to greet them.
Olivier Nkurunziza called on the Badasigana to redouble their efforts and work so that the party is established on all hills and in all families in order to win the 2020 elections.
The Secretary General of UPRONA called on the Badasigana of Bujumbura, asking them to avoid confrontations with members of other political parties.
Addressing dissenters within his political party, Olivier Nkurunziza announced to them that the doors are open and they are free to return to the party. "They will be warmly welcomed," he stated.
Speaking, the First Vice-President of the Republic and UPRONA member, Gaston Sindimwo, made known that it was UPRONA party that had the privilege of leading the country to independence thanks to the victory it achieved on September 18, 1961.
According to Gaston Sindimwo, UPRONA has greatly contributed to the restoration and consolidation of peace and during the difficult moments Burundi has experienced. For him, Burundians should keep in mind the importance of UPRONA party in the life of the country.
The First Vice-President of the Republic also called for the unity of the Badasigana by inviting them to avoid the divisive teachings disseminated by certain detractors of UPRONA whom they describe, according to Gaston Sindimwo, as a Tutsi mono-ethnic party. He repeated for all to hear that UPRONA is a unifying party that has in its ranks Hutu, Tutsi, and Twa, clarifying that the three components of the Burundian people worked hand in hand in the struggle for independence.
For Gaston Sindimwo, stories about ethnicities are propaganda slogans of unscrupulous politicians, intended to mow down and eliminate competitors for certain political positions. An opportunity to call for unity and peaceful coexistence between different political parties in order to prepare transparent and peaceful elections.
Gaston Sindimwo also seized this opportunity to ask the Badasigana to prepare seriously and work hard to win the 2020 elections in order to regain through the ballot the power that was taken from them. "Only those who will have worked hard will benefit from the dividends of their labor," he insisted.
The ceremonies closed with the welcome of 12 new members coming from other political parties.
Before the party's work, the First Vice-President of the Republic had attended Sunday Mass of the Palms at the Mutumba parish in the same Kabezi commune.
In his greetings to the faithful of Mutumba parish, First Vice-President of the Republic Gaston Sindimwo made known that for him, Easter means transcending hatreds and divisions, loving one's neighbor and living God's love in the image of Christ. An opportunity to ask them to preserve peace and national unity.
The First Vice-President of the Republic Gaston Sindimwo also asked the faithful of this parish to think about family planning in order to bring into the world children they are capable of raising so as to allow the State of Burundi to plan the country's development.
