In DR Congo, the informant appointed by Félix Tshisekedi to find a new majority in the Assembly officially began his meetings on Wednesday. Modeste Bahati Lukwebo plans to complete them within a week. Negotiations are therefore still underway to determine who will be part of this majority or not. In this context, national deputies from Ensemble and the MLC, the movements of Moïse Katumbi and Jean-Pierre Bemba, deny that their leaders attempted to monetize their participation. This is what Jean-Marc Kabund, leader of the presidential party, had claimed.

Deputies close to Moïse Katumbi and Jean-Pierre Bemba issued a joint statement condemning the remarks of Jean-Marc Kabund. According to the statement, the interim president of the UDPS claimed that the two leaders of Ensemble for the Republic and the MLC would have demanded: for one the presidency of the National Assembly and for the second the office of Prime Minister. According to Jean-Marc Kabund, the demand would have been made during the January 15 meeting with the President of the Republic.
For him, these demands give the impression that the two leaders are entering the Sacred Union to destroy it. A video of the meeting between Kabund and several deputies of the Sacred Union is circulating on social media. For supporters of Katumbi and Bemba, these remarks were not made during the meeting with the Head of State.
The discussions focused solely on the break with the change in the country's governance, concludes the statement. These national deputies are preparing to align their views for the petition of interpellation aimed at Prime Minister Sylvestre Ilunga Ilunkamba.
