He said he was more determined than ever to continue his campaign and there was no question of abandoning the presidential race, that was the message Bobi Wine wanted to convey on Tuesday.
"We will liberate this country", declared the candidate, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi. During his press conference, the opposition figure dwelt at length on Sunday's events near the city of Masaka and notably on the death of one of his security personnel, who he says was hit by a military vehicle, a claim denied by the Ugandan army spokeswoman.
Bobi Wine also condemned attacks by security forces against journalists covering his campaign stops. "The regime is afraid of the truth", declared the candidate, calling on the media to continue filming and exposing the violence.
After pausing his rallies since Sunday, the opposition figure is thus hitting the road again starting Wednesday, December 30 to continue his campaign. "Everything that has happened gives us even more reasons to fight", he assured, to applause from his supporters.
