In Burkina Faso, the campaign for the presidential and legislative elections scheduled for November 22 is ending Friday evening. For the presidency, 13 candidates are running, including incumbent president Roch Marc Christian Kaboré.

■ Eddie Komboïgo
For the first time since the fall of Blaise Compaoré six years ago, the former ruling party CDP (Congress for Democracy and Progress) is able to present a candidate. It is the academic and financial expert Eddie Komboïgo. He does not hide his proximity to former president Compaoré, who lives in exile in Côte d'Ivoire.
■ Kadré Désiré Ouédraogo
The former Prime Minister of Blaise Compaoré from 1996 to 1998 and former president of the commission of the Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is running as a candidate for the "Acting Together" movement.
■ Ablassé Ouédraogo
The former Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) is running under the banner of "Burkina Otherwise".
■ Yacouba Isaac Zida
For four years, the former Prime Minister of the transition, Yacouba Isaac Zida, has been living in exile in Canada. This former military official was endorsed by the MPS (Patriotic Movement for Salvation, opposition) for the presidential election on November 22. All in a particular context: Yacouba Isaac Zida is indeed the subject of an arrest warrant for "desertion" and "refusal to obey" by the military justice system. How, in his absence, do his supporters defend his candidacy? To answer this, Bineta Diagne questioned Professor Augustin Loada, the president of the MPS.
■ Ségui Ambroise Farama
He is the candidate of the Organization of African Peoples.
■ Gilbert Noël Ouédraogo
Candidate of the ADF/RDA (Alliance for Democracy and Federation/African Democratic Rally), former minister under Blaise Compaoré, former vice-president of the National Assembly.
■ Yéli Monique Kam
Yéli Monique Kam is the only female candidate in this presidential election. She is the candidate of the MRB, the Movement for the Renaissance of Burkina Faso.
■ Zéphirin Diabré
The leader of the UPC (Union for Progress and Change) is running for the second time for the highest office: he came in second in 2015 with 29.65% of the votes. Former Minister of Commerce from 1992 to 1994, then Minister of Finance until 1996 under Blaise Compaoré, Zéphirin Diabré proposes to form a national reconciliation government if he is elected.
■ Roch Marc Christian Kaboré
Should one negotiate with jihadist groups? This is the question causing the most debate as the presidential election in Burkina Faso approaches. Several candidates propose exploring dialogue with armed groups operating in the north and east of Burkina. Here is Roch Marc Christian Kaboré's position. The incumbent president also expresses himself on the possibility of a second round.
■ Abdoulaye Soma
RFI also opened its airwaves to Professor Abdoulaye Soma of the political movement "Future Sun". An academic and constitutional law specialist, he was special advisor to Prime Minister Yacouba Isaac Zida during the transition.
■ Kiemdoro Do Pascal Sessouma
Former journalist Kiemdoro Do Pascal Sessouma is the founder of the Vision Burkina party.
■ Tahirou Barry
Tahirou Barry, candidate of the MCR, the Movement for Change and Renaissance, came in third in the 2015 presidential election with 3% of the votes. He subsequently joined the presidential majority of Roch Marc Christian Kaboré. Appointed Minister of Culture and Tourism, he later resigned in 2017.
■ Claude Aimé Tassembedo
An independent candidate, Claude Aimé Tassembedo is a consultant and specialist in human resources management.
Harouna Kindo, of the Movement of Intellectuals for Development, who appeared on the provisional list, was rejected for non-payment of the deposit of 25 million francs.
