The conditions for organizing a serious and peaceful ballot, whose result can be accepted by all, are currently not in place, according to the European Union.
Brussels reaffirms its support for the OIF (International Organization of the Francophonie) and ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States), which have withdrawn from the process. In response to the request of Guinean authorities, the sub-regional institution conditions the sending of observers on the inclusive nature of the ballot.
