"President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo learned with immense sorrow of the death of H.E. Kenneth Kaunda, the father of Zambia's independence," writes the Communication office of the President of the DRC.
And further: "It is a major figure of Pan-Africanism and one of the continent's last survivors of liberation struggles against colonial rule who has passed away."
President Tshisekedi extends his condolences to the authorities and the brotherly people of Zambia, as well as to the biological family of the illustrious deceased.
Recall that born on April 28, 1924, Kenneth Kaunda is considered the father of Zambia's independence, a country he governed for 27 years, from 1964 to 1991. He is therefore the first Zambian President. He leaves behind him a large family.
