In this year-end meeting, organized annually, the general secretary of ATRABU, Charles Ntirampeba, says that his fellow drivers always have the habit of driving too fast these days, forgetting that their lives and those of the passengers are in their hands; at the slightest problem life is worthless.
"We are racing for clients"
On this, the general secretary advises his fellow drivers to drive responsibly while respecting human life.
On the side of the police in charge of road safety, OPP1 Désiré Niyongabo, presented their way of seeing things by saying that certain drivers spend nights drinking and wake up drunk and drive. And others park their vehicles very poorly, drive vehicles that do not have brakes, raise transport prices excessively, overtake, ... They forget that there is a fine provided for each offense.
"I advise you to respect the road code".
OPP1 Niyongabo Désiré also recalled that fines are provided by the road code in its articles 199 and 200 for deviating drivers:
