As indicated by Générose Nahimana, president of the kaze-FDD party at the national level, the objective of this meeting was to assess the level of preparations for the 2020 elections and to recall the electoral calendar. She reminded attendees that the presidential, legislative, and communal elections will take place on the same day.

With this in mind, Ms. Nahimana recommended to kaze-FDD activists to prepare seriously, insisting that the preparation of electoral lists will take into account the quotas provided for by the constitution and the electoral code. The president of the kaze-FDD party urged women affiliated with her party to mark their visibility in politics with the aim of joining decision-making bodies.

To the young people of this party, she asked them to continue safeguarding peace and security and to devote themselves to development work. A similar appeal was made respectively by Célestin Nahumuremyi, president of the kaze-FDD party in Kayanza province, and Maron Bigirindavyi, treasurer at the national level, who in their speeches invited representatives of the said party at the hillside level not to regard each other with indifference toward members of other political formations because, they stressed, elections should not be at the origin of disagreements given that after their holding, life continues on a daily basis.
